Accessibility statement

Hi Sign wants this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This page explains our target, the measures we take, known limitations, and how to report a problem.

Our target: WCAG 2.1 Level AA

This website aims to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines from the W3C. We build to that standard by hand, in the code — we do not rely on a third-party accessibility overlay or widget.

This is about this website. It is separate from the physical ADA signage Hi Sign makes as a product (interior room-ID and wayfinding signs with raised characters and Braille). One is digital accessibility; the other is tactile signage. We keep them distinct.

Measures we take

  • A "Skip to main content" link as the first thing you can tab to.
  • Semantic landmarks: header, main, footer, and labelled navigation, so screen readers can jump around.
  • One heading per page, in order, with meaningful subheadings.
  • Color contrast that meets AA ratios for body text and large text.
  • Visible keyboard focus on every interactive element, with a clear focus ring.
  • Every form field has a label, an explicit link to its field, autocomplete hints, and error messages announced live.
  • Animations and motion respect your "reduce motion" system setting, with a no-animation fallback.
  • Pages reflow to a single column and stay usable at 200% zoom and on phones in any orientation.

How we test

We check every page with keyboard-only navigation, automated accessibility scanners (axe), and screen-reader spot checks. We review contrast against the WCAG 2.1 AA ratios before publishing a color. Before launch, each route is walked end to end with the keyboard and a screen reader.

Known limitations

Some images are currently labeled placeholders that will be replaced with real photography before launch. Real photos will carry descriptive alt text. If you find anything we missed — a control you can't reach, text you can't read, or a form that won't work with your assistive technology — please tell us.

Compatibility with assistive technology

This site is built with standard HTML and tested with current screen readers and common browsers. It does not depend on a specific device, and the quote form works without JavaScript for the structural content (progressive enhancement).
